It would be great it "Descriptions" could be added to folders. This way we could show the intent of our folder structure to less familiar / external project team members .
I'm trying to understand the request a little deeper. Would you suggest using the same "Description" column that can be used to describe the folder contents, or do you see another area/form to place a folder description? For example, if you were to hover over a folder should it show a description?
We also would want these Description fields ( once enabled inside ACC) to be visible in Windows Explorer - Similar to how the 'Status' field is mapped from ACC to Windows Explorer.
This would be a great asset, within the ACC/BIM360 Environment we are restricted to the character counts. Therefore, using the folder name as a descriptor (i.e. A - Architectural), the description could be used to identify the need of the folder (for instance, Folder A, would have the description Architectural), greatly reducing the character count.
If you need to generate folders with shorter names, the "Description" attribute will help a lot in this task, since it will contain more detailed information about its content. It will very helpfull when you hover over a folder should it show this description. This is a must and a basic usability feature that has a lot of impact on the speed with which information is examined. I also understand that the API already supports this functionality. This request can be found here in another wish list and was registered years ago. The truth is that it is a simple improvement and should not wait so many years or so many votes.
