Add Packages to Transmittals

Add Packages to Transmittals

In order to add files that are in a package to a transmittal currently, you have to open the package, select all of the files, then you can add those files to the transmittal.  So in essence you  are adding the package to the transmittal, but not really.  I want to add it as a package.  As one entity.  Makes it simpler and also ensures a slip of the wrist doesn't remove something.

If I'm wrong on something here, and it is currently possible, please let me know.  Thank you.

Im curious. So as you update the package, you just need to re-issue a new transmittal for review each time right?

@kwilktrihydro When I create a package it is of a fixed version, so there is no updates to be had of those files.  I use a package as a time capsule in time of the work...  either design progress (SD, DD, CD...) or a submittal/addendum/revision spot in time.  Those then are what are sometimes sent as transmittals to outside stakeholders.

I would imagine that if the files in your packages are set to Current Version, then the Transmittal would need to be recreated with each update??  I'm not sure exactly how that would work honestly because we don't use packages in that manner.

@Ric_Weber  We also looking for this feature.
It is really time consuming to click into each package, then select all the files and after that click on create a transmittal. Also as you mentioned to possibility to lose some information, using this way is very high.

It is much more easier to select the complete package from the overview and create a transmittal
