ACC Browser: Improve the process to close Microsoft documents from the "Editing" mode

On ACC Browser, the process to close Microsoft documents (for example, Word files, Excel files etc) from the "Editing" mode can be improved to make the process simpler and less tedious.

Currently, to close a Microsoft document from the "Editing" mode on the ACC Browser, the user is required to click the document name on the top left of the page, click "Return" and then wait for the document to reload and return to "Viewing" mode. Thereafter, the user is required to click the "X" on the top right of the page to close the Microsoft document.

It would be useful and less time consuming if this process can be improved. It would be great if the user is only required to click the document name on the top left of the page and then click "Return" to close the document. Alternatively, there could be the option of an "X" on the top right of the page which, when clicked, will close the Microsoft document directly from "Editing" mode.

AGreed.  ACC requires too many clicks in many of the tools and functions.  A simple X in the top right corner to close the document (irrespective of viewing mode or editing mode) and return to the relevant folder in FILES will be much simpler.

I don't think you actually have to do any of that. I don't save or return to viewing mode when editing an excel document in the ACC browser and it works fine.

My coworkers and I can edit the same file at the same time. It updates live like in google docs. We haven't had a problem with conflicts.

@DPennerR98VZ  Thanks for taking the time to comment.  If you are finished editing the file, and you want to return to the folder in ACC FILES where the file is (perhaps to edit another file), how do you close the file and get back to the folder?  The only way I know of is to follow the process described by @aishwariyad .

We have unfortunately had problems with conflicts where several people were simultaneously working on the same file in the browser.  This problem has been reported to ACC Helpdesk and they are investigating the matter.

@marikamKYVFX Good question. I haven't ever needed to return to the folder from the excel file and I actually can't find any way to do this. I've bookmarked the edit version of the file in my bookmarks bar, so maybe if I wanted to go back to the same folder over and over again I would put that in my bookmarks bar as well, but this wouldn't work if you're working in many folders.

It would help if the cloud allowed you to open things in a new tab but it doesn't, and that's a pretty significant oversight.

Wish I could help more, hopefully they're able to fix your conflict issues.
