Where are the ACC Publish Logs to verify broken views/sheets?

We are trying to troubleshoot a failed extraction on a Revit 2020 file in ACC. This is happening more and more lately.

In BIM 360, you could view the publish log to identify which sheet or view failed. Where is the publish log in ACC? We are not seeing the publish log icon in Docs, nor does it appear when viewing file activities?

If not available, how do you identify a broken view/sheet to fix the failed extraction?

Hi @DavidE.Mueller this seems to be the only place you can see the publish log. The Build module!

Please follow the link below:

https://help.autodesk.com/view/BUILD/ENU/?guid=Publish_Log

I would create a ticket with Autodesk if you are not able to use or have access to the Build module.

If this works for you, please mark this as a solution. Thank you.

Identifying broken views/sheets in a failed ACC Publish can be tricky compared to BIM 360. While there's no direct equivalent to the BIM 360 Publish Log, here are some methods you can use to pinpoint the problematic elements:

1. ACC Docs Publish Settings:

  • Open the affected Revit file in ACC Docs.
  • Go to "Collaborate" -> "Publish Settings."
  • Under "Published Elements," review the listed views and sheets. Look for any elements with a warning icon or red text next to their names. These might indicate potential issues.

2. Revit File Validation Log:

  • Within Revit itself, go to "Manage" -> "Add-Ins."
  • Find and open the "Autodesk Collaborate - BIM Collaborate (ACC)."
  • Under "Troubleshooting," click "Run Validation."
  • This will create a log file highlighting potential issues with your Revit model that could impact publishing. Analyze the log for details about problematic views or sheets.

3. File Download and Inspection:

  • Download the failed extraction file from ACC Docs.
  • Open it in Revit locally.
  • Manually inspect the views and sheets for errors or inconsistencies. Pay attention to missing elements, corrupted geometry, or invalid parameters.

Unfortunately there is no publish log in ACC, even though this was included in BIM360. It is one of the major disparities between the software platforms. When information has been uploaded to ACC it is very difficult to then find that information again unless you can remember precisely where you uploaded it, and other members will have the same problem.

It is included as a feature within Build, within the 'sheets' module, but is not included in the 'Docs' module.
