Save View to Docs - Basically an NWD? If so, how is it better?

I'm a bit confused with the different interfaces of the Views in Model Coordination, vs how Saved Views appear in Docs.

This is apart from the fact that it is not possible to rename a View in Model Coordination, and you can have multiple views with the same name. There seems to be no link between the View, and the same View in Docs after its saved to Docs.

COORD Help states that saving a view to Docs means "These saved files are snapshots and are useful for mobile viewing and downstream workflows. A snapshot file is a point-in-time uneditable capture of the view in its current state." (https://help.autodesk.com/view/COORD/ENU/?guid=Model_Coord_Views_Save_to_Docs)

It sounds like once the View is saved to Docs, thats a static coordinated model which won't be changed if the models within are updated. The View in Model Coordination will be 'live', and will be constantly updated.

So is this basically an NWD? if so, since Navisworks Freedom can open NWDs, I'd rather have NWDs that project members with Freedom can download and be able to open. Plus, they'll still be able to open an NWD from Autodesk Viewer and via mobile browser.

How is saving a View better, and what possible perks am I missing?

It seems that the "view" saved to docs is somehow optimized for viewing in the browser. Large models seem to load very quickly in the browser when saved using this method. However, I agree, it seems a bit useless. I'm also just using NWDs for team members using Freedom.
