How to limit information being shared to ACC

Hi, I'm still new to ACC. I understand that ACC is designed to facilitate seamless information sharing among all project stakeholders, including clients, BIM managers, engineers, etc. I'm curious if there's a way to exclusively share 3D models without including the drawings. While this may seem counterproductive, there are situations where consultants may require this option for negotiating with clients

I would recommend placing your models into a separate folder within Files, and then giving permission to the Client to only this folder (view only access will be ok). If you need help with the permission settings this page on the help website should be useful DOCS Help | Folder Permissions | Autodesk.

Further to @Ryan_Holland_LDP's reply, if that model is from Revit, then use the Revit Publish Settings to be specific about which drawings you want to include/exclude. But ultimately, folder permissions set to View Only is the best solution.

Hi Ryan,

Thank you for your reply. However, the issue is that our files are stored in the cloud, making it easy for the BIM management team or other consultants to download our Revit files and access the sheets/views within our model.

Is there a way to prevent this? Typically, in a 'non-live model', I would delete all the sheets/views from our model before sending it to the consultants.

This can be done, but I believe it would be pointless if they could download our Revit model and access views/sheets from it.

You won't have total control if it's not in yours.

Hello, I'm having a similar question.

We are sharing our Revit model with clients + third parties (stored on 3rd party server). Currently we are converting our production templates into revit (instead of autocad/excell), for a better internal workflow. However I do not want other parties being able to view our production drawings, or have access to the templates.

I know you can control what sheets/views get published, but as mentioned above, this is pointless if others can just download the revit model.

Perhaps we could create a dedicated production model, but as far as I know I’d still have to upload that to the ACC in order to link the live model.

Any ideas about this would be appreciated.

IRC, when someone downloads the model, they get the latest published version. Change your publish settings to limit the "production drawings".

That's actually a very good point, I did not realise. Still have the situation where others can still open our live model of course.

This is an issue we are dealing with as well.  We are an Architecture firm.  We have found that when we share our model (not live modeling) in ACC that our consultants (MEP, Structural, Etc...) are receiving our title block families, registered architect's digital stamp families, signature families, etc. from our sheet views.  Is there a way to only share the 3D model?  We need to exclude the sheet views and associated families.  There should be a way to control sensitive data.
