Files mission after permission upgrade

Hoping someone can help with this, my BIM/CAD support upgraded my permissions on our ACC / Desktop Connector to admin and after doing so I've lost a critical folder and we cannot find most of its contents. I found only a small portion of the contents in the 'deleted items' section on ACC, but they were files I purposefully deleted about 6 weeks ago. About a month of other work I did in Inventor the same directory appears to be entirely missing. Is there anywhere this might possibly be cached on my local machine or on the cloud somewhere? eg. the path was C:\Users\jcharron\DC\ACCDocs\Company\10 - Storage\Project Files\Company Machine Designs\etc

I tried searching for file names on the local machine but no luck. Help greatly appreciated with this.

Hi @jcharronYJF55 ,

I understand how important it is to recover these files. Here are some steps that might help:

1. Permission Upgrade Clarification:
Normally, upgrading permissions from a member to an admin shouldn't affect project access. The only situation that might disrupt access is if you were removed and then re-added to the project as an admin in the admin portal, which could reset some permissions.

2. Check 'Deleted Items' and 'Archived' Sections in ACC:
Since you found some files in 'Deleted Items,' it’s worth reviewing this section thoroughly for anything that might have been accidentally removed. Additionally, check the 'Archived' section in ACC—it's possible the project or specific folders were mistakenly archived, which can make files seem missing.

3. Search Local Cache in Desktop Connector:
Files may be temporarily cached locally in Desktop Connector. Look in the cache at C:\Users\jcharron\AppData\Local\Autodesk\Desktop Connector\ for any recent copies, especially if you were working offline.

4. Review the ACC Activity Log:
The ACC Activity Log can provide a history of actions like file deletions, moves, and permission changes, which may offer insight into the missing folder’s whereabouts.

5. Contact BIM/CAD Support for Potential Recovery Options:
If files were mistakenly deleted or altered, your BIM/CAD support team might have access to additional recovery options or backups, depending on company settings.

Let me know if any of these steps help locate the files or if I can assist further—I know it’s crucial to recover this project data!
