Autodesk Desktop Connector not unlocking files when exiting

I am using Autodesk Desktop Connector (Build 19.9.1.2222).  Yesterday it suddenly stopped unlocking files I had saved and closed, leaving them locked so that this morning I need to get hold of admin to unlock them.

I've tried closing and restarting autocad,  then restarting my computer, then signing out of Connector and signing back in, all to no avail.

Does anyone have any idea why it is doing this?

I think the latest update is 16.9. If you have that and it’s giving you trouble try going back to an older version like 16.8

Thank you, but as far as I can tell, 19.9.1.2222 is the latest - as least I updated it a couple of weeks ago and that's what it updated to.  I can't remember what version I had previously, but the 16.x rings a bell.

We have discovered that everyone working on the cloud needs to have the same build, otherwise it gives problems.

Maybe try uninstalling and reinstalling your current version.

Also when I click on my Desktop Connector, then on the gear, select Help > About my version shows 16.9

My apologies - I mixed the numbers up - it's not 19.6.1.2222, it's 16.9.1.2222!

And for some reason, after the files were unlocked this morning by admin, they seem to be releasing the lock.  At least, the ones I've just closed are not locked.

Thanks for your suggestion - if the problem recurs I will try reloading Connector.

lol...for a moment there, you seem to have a version no one else had...since even their site shows only the 16.9 version...but glad to have helped...cheers!!!

I think I may have found out what happened:  on the day all the files locked, I had an internet glitch, my internet went down for a moment and I only realised it when I got that spilled coffee cup.  I reconnected and told it to refresh.

Because it's not immediate (you only find out there is a problem when you close the files) I didn't realise right away that the lock did not release.  I found a couple more locked files this morning and the dates are all the same - the date my internet went down for a moment.

It's the only explanation I can think of, and I'm posting it because (you never know) it might help someone else sometime.

Thanks for the update...that means it's really important to have a stable internet connection or better yet invest in a failover so when the main internet connection goes down the backup immediately kicks in.
