ACC Takeoff Corrupted Exports/Maximum Size Limit?

I am using Takeoff on a scope of work that is composed of a very large number of objects (~400,000 elements).  Besides for being very slow to process object assignments to Takeoff Types (which is understandable to a degree), when I try to export the takeoff to Excel it downloads a file with a very small file size.  When I open it in Excel it gives me the error "Excel cannot open the file because the file format or file extension is not valid.  Verify that the file has not been corrupted and that the file extension matches the format of the file."

Is there a known limit to the size of takeoff that ACC can handle?

I expect responses to say to split up the takeoff into multiple packages, but it is already split up in the way that our estimating department needs it, so it would create more work for me to split them up and then recombine to send them the deliverable.

Tim- I'd like to confirm we are speaking the same language. When you say elements are you referring to objects in the model or takeoff classifications? Maximum number of output definitions is 50,000. Maximum number of codes in classification system is 30,000. Please see Product limits guidelines.  Hope this helps.

Good clarification, I'm talking about the number of model objects.
