ACC - Issue - Project Naming - 2024

I resently discovered an issue when naming Projects in ACC Docs.

It may be in a post here somewhere, but couldnt find any 😊

I like to name and list my Projects and projectfiles, using the vertical bar(line | ).

• Ex. (Number | Name | Adress | Ect.)
• It makes it more professionel and many of our clients requires it.

We have now been having an issue when creating a new project in ACC and a Cloud Model from Revit 2024

(Maybe other versions aswell).

• When trying to open the project, the loading window freezes and you have to shut it down in the "Task Manager".
• I have tried many thing and finally found that when using the vertical bar in the name, it wont load.
• If you change the name and remove the vertial bar, you have to download the project and resave it as a Cloud Model (Start over).
• If you change the name and add the vertical bar, it will load, but when you save it and open again, it freezes.

Solution:

• Autodesk should solve the issue 😁
• Or just avoid using the vertical bar when naming your projects.

Hi

The | would be considered a special character and thus will not work.  Having a long project name c/w address is going to push the 255 limit.

ACC follows the Micsrosft rules for naming and characters. Do not exceed 255, and spaces count as 3 characters, and a typo of an space at the end of folder will also cuase problems.

Hi

Know the MS rules on charactors, but they normally put down limits and warrings, so it dont reach the point where it get to be a problem.

At the moment you can start a new project, name it, with just one wrong charactor by mistake - upload your projectfiles, and then the project is already crooked and you have to start over.

Dont think its surpose to be like that and definately think there is a solution 🙂
