Hi Brady,

Yes, it works in sheets too. Take it for a spin and let us know what you think.

Thanks

Great news!

What browsers does this work in?  I'm using Chrome and while the tool appeared, I couldn't pull off any measurements.  I clicked many objects, edges and points but nothing would register.

Hi Aaron,

It should work in all browsers, so please send a few screenshots if you would so that we can see what is happening for you currently.

Thanks,

So I logged in to grab some screen shots and it's working really well!  Some of my clicks (on gridlines, for example) didn't register right away but that could be a matter of users learning the system.  Great work, everyone!

For my next question... (lmk if this should be a feature request) since this is predominantly useful in 2D views (to be honest I didn't even look for it in any 3D views), is there a way to set the scale?

Hi Aaron,

There is no "Set your Scale" capability yet, however, your 2D files should maintain their scale when you're using the measure function, so, are you saying that is not the case?

Or, are you saying that you have a use case for where this ability would be useful? if so, yes, please add to the IdeaStation.

Please let me know for sure and thank you for the feedback.

Thanks,

On the measurements I took to test earlier, the measurement feedback was sheet distance, not object distance (sheet scale * sheet distance). I'll upload screens tomorrow.

I'm still not finding the measurements to be very accurate at all as you can see in the image.

Also, the measurement itself is not all that easy to read, and I have excellent vision. White text on an orange background wouldn't be my first choice of colours, also the font size needs to be larger.

I think sheet measure not reflecting view scale is dangerous to the point where the function should be removed until it is fixed.

(Tested using sheet view of Revit .rvt project)

Hi Robin,

Thanks for posting what you are seeing. Can you try a test for us. Re upload the file and try measure again and see if that solves the issue you are seeing.

Thanks for trying this, and let us know how this goes.

Hi Bud,

Reuploading the file has resolved the measure issue

Hasn't resolved sheet selected item object properties not loading. Attached screenshot shows area in the Revit project selected with Sheet Right Click >  Activate view. Below the same area selected in A360 project sheet viewer with properties loading. Longest I've waited is 15-20 minutes but still no loading.

Thanks Robin for the update. If you view this same file in the old A360 UI does that work?

Thanks for checking.

Despite my previous comment, some of the measurements being displayed are still out by a few millimeters. I have a feeling that this is going back to the good 'ol days (approx. 15 year ago) of the measurement accuracy only being as good as the resolution of the PDF or DWF.

But, given that the user is now able to upload a 100% accurate design file such as a Revit, AutoCAD, Inventor, etc, I'm not sure if this close enough is good enough approach is going to be acceptable to the masses.

If anything, the accuracy should be improving and I think Autodesk needs to find a way to present back to the user accurate results, given it was processed from an accurate source file.

Thanks Chad for the update. Have these files that are off more been uploaded recently? If not, can upload them again and see how that works.

Thanks
