Some 3DS files import, some do not. What is the reason - what is the solution?

I keep getting this when importing 3DS files:

Extractor error code -1073741819

Some of my 3DS files import and some do not.  What is the magic? Why do some fail, and some import just fine?

Sorry for the delay. Can you share the file with us?  If you create a public share with download enabled, we can take a look to see what might be going on. 

When you create the public share, you can share it as a private message so that only you and I see the link.

Thank you.  I do not see where I create a share. Can you tell me how to do this?

Attached is a tile view of my project, showing several 3DS files that have errors, and some that import and load just fine.
