Is there a process for moving the working folder to a new server? I have just started to use Vault Basic for our office. It is running on a Windows 7 machine with a single hard drive and I have just been testing Vault with a single project that I have been working on but in the New Year my boss would like to put other existing projects onto Vault and have 2 other employees start using it. We also have a NAS for storage which we would like to store our files on. I have created a working folder on the NAS and forced the working folder to be there. I removed the project from Vault.I copied the project I have been working on into a seperate folder on the NAS and using the client in AutoCAD Electrical 2013 and check these files to Vault. When I check them out though I get a message indicating that the file is newer than the version in Vault. I check them in but all the icons for the project indicate that the local version is newer than the Vault. In the Vault Icon Reference is says to check out with the option "Don't Get Local Copy" but I have been unable to find that. I am using Vault Basic Client 2013 with AutoCAD Electrical 2013.
For an update I think I found the issue but I still need a solution. If I move the working folder to the server where the Vault is located, the working copy and vault copy will be the same, showing the white circle icon next to the files. It is when I move the working folder to the NAS that the icon becomes the green circle.
Is there a special step for having a working folder located on a separate server or is it not suggested? We would like to use this NAS as it has RAID capabilities.
