We have New Dell Precision 370 Computers (Windows XP Pro, 2GB RAM, etc.) and
are installing the New Inventor Series (Inventor 10 and AutoCAD Mechanical
2006) and Vault / ProductStream 4.1. We found that we could not access our
Networked Content Center until we un-installed Inventor and re-installed and
then not apply the SP1, only then could we access the Content Center.
We cannot install the SP1 because of the problem specified above, so let me
move on to the problem we're having. Some of the computers work fine,
others do not; sometimes it takes several restarts to gain access to the
Network. This is an intermittent problem on some computers; these were
purchased at the same time and are the same configuration.
I initially thought that SP1 may have fixed this issue, however I installed
SP1 on one of the problem computers and I still have the problem, so that
theory is out the door. All of these computers are using the "Broadcom
NetXtreme 57xx Gigabit Controller" Network Card. We can replace the Network
Card with any Generic PCI Network Card and the problem goes away.
Obviously, we don't want to replace all the Network Cards if we don't have
to.
This problem occurred sometime after the installation of this Software. Has
anybody heard of this problem and what to do to fix the problem?
Thank you
Chester
