keep running into this problem. Sometimes when I try to add a subassembly to
another assembly in Inventor 2008 I a forced to check it out. When I initially
add the subassembly all is well but as soon as I add a constraint or move the
part in space I'm prompted to check it out. If I refuse it will be highlighted
in red in the vault toolbar and I won't be able to check in the top level
assembly until I check out and save the subassembly. This is not how this
should work, right? I shouldn't have to check out a part or assembly just to
add it somewhere else, right? Thanks, Roman
Its so disappointing to see no improvement on this issue even after 5 years !!
I have this checked-in assembly that I am trying to use in readonly mode (Dont want to checked out). I try to use a different positional rep thats stored into that readonly assembly & inventor wants me to check it out.
