sign convention for bars

Hi Artur,

I have a question about the sign convention:

if I analyse a bar the default sign for tension is negative, positive for compression. This is backwards to most FEA software.

The stress maps in panels is reversed, so negative is compression.

Is it possible to change this sign convention?

Thanks

No, there is no such option.

I'd love to see that sign convention option in future for frame elements. Besides It would also be very handy to have a global option for panels that switches moment sign. Every time I need to change local panel direction for floor elements to read moments in a familiar fashion but unfortunately that effects the sign of displacements aswell..
