Model crashes whilst meshing structure

I have built an RC model and am in the process of meshing the structure.

I have a slab which I have previously meshed and I have then tried to mesh the slab again to improve the mesh and make it coherent. The program begins the process of re-meshing the slab and at 48% complete it freezes and crashes. I have even left the program running for approximately half an hour to see if this sorts it out but nothing happens so I have to close the model and try again. I have tried several times to do this but the same thing happens each time.

Can you please advice me why the program is crashing like this? I have not edited the slab at all between the time that I first meshed the slab and the re-meshing.

The slab I am having a problem with is the smaller one which that is highlighted when you open the file.
