adding parentheses and brackets to stud and camber tags
I have the same question. Did you ever figure it out? I see that you can type in the brackets along with the number in the Element Properties/Instance Parameters box. But there should be a simpler, universal way of doing it.
In order for the stud and camber to show up with bracket you open up the tag family. First save it and give it another name. Then modify the family by placing brackets in it and load that as a tag instead of the one you are using at present.
Could you be more specific in your instructions. Assume I'm a beginner. I know I can click on a beam label, and then click on Edit Family. But I still don't see how to add the brackets.

You need to go into the tag family which is a revit file located in your annotation library. Make a copy of that tag file first and then update it so the original remain.
When you edit the family use text to place brackets. In view Properties
under annotation check to show in this view otherwise you won't see where
you are putting them. You could make 3 different tags.
