Automatic Analytical Member Creation??

Hi all,

I'm using Revit 2025.2 to create an analytical model for export for structural analysis. Is there a way to have Revit automatically create the analytical counterparts for physical members when I add them to the project after I've already created the initial analytical model? or do I have to reselect those new elements and rerun the analytical model tool? I think I know the answer, but want to confirm.

You would have to rerun the the Analysis to add additional elements you could filter out exiting members already with a "Has Association" to the Analytical counterparts.

FYI - In Revit 2026 this is automatic in that it only selects new elements created when rerunning the process

That is what I thought. Thank you, Jay. I didn't realize the feature was added in 2026, though. Thanks again!

Revit 2027 brings an update to the Physical to Analytical Automation tool: it can now update the analytical model based on changes in the physical model, rather than recreating it. The update also applies not only when previously considered elements change, but when new elements are added as well.
