Revit & Dialux

I’d like to know how to load the project and calculation result sets from Dialux (lighting software) in Revit.
We have "building design suite premium 2014".
Thanks!

Hello Maria, and welcome to the Discussion Groups!

I am not familiar with Dialux, but to what file formats can the data be exported?

Hello!
I have to import in Revit :
*.dxf files and *.stf files generated by Dialux Lighting software.
I'd like that all luminaires be in 3D format.
Is this a dream?
Thank you for your answer!
Bye

We changed from Dialux to Relux lighting design as it integrates into Revit a lot better. you can export a gbxml from revit to relux so no need to draw any rooms then you can export 3D lights as dwg for importing back into Revit.

But ultimately we want to to the lighting calcs within Revit its self. we have been testing Elum Tools add on, not free but so far its very good and saves a lot of time over Relux & Dialux. On test rooms we have found all 3 produce very similar results so we are about to test it on a live project.

Hi, Have you tested Elum Tools on live project? Is it reliable?

I have used ElumTools on several projects the past couple of years and the results have been outstanding!! My only issue with ElumTools is that the version for Revit 2016 would randomly crash Revit and not allow you to save. The only way to solve this problem was to disable the ElumTools add-on. However, I have not had this problem when using ElumTools for Revit 2017. I love the 3D renderings of the spaces when ElumTools performs its lighting calculations.

Hi, maybe it's interesting to try the Relux app for Revit. Here I leave youtube link.
Greetings.

You can import IFC files from Revit into DIALux evo to give you the building in 3D. You cant at the moment export IFC files from DIALux evo. They are working on it and it should be coming hopefully this year. Lets see though as evo still cant do emergency lighting as a standard!!!!!!!

You can do Emergency by doing 'direct only' calculations which wont include any of the reflectances 👍

Still not as good as the old dialux Em calculations

There's a revit Add-in to get .STF files from Revit Luminaire Hub - DIALUX tools .STF exporter

I think their rendering is not as good as or more likely "realistically comparable" to dialux's rendering yet. Dialux still produces far better realistic rendering than agi and elum tool. If you are just trying to see the technical data based rough imagery, I am sure this does not matter at all.
