I am having trouble with autoCAD layout previews or thumbnails appearing at various places over the screen when I switch from AutoCAD running full screen to another application not running full screen - am I the only one?
How do I turn off these preview/thumbnail windows please?
thanks
George
Thanks Dean - I found some system variables starting with QV - especially QVLAYOUTPIN, but the variable you have quoted isn't listed in my Help data and when you type it in at the command line there is no response - not even "unknown command".

What version of AutoCAD? QVDRAWINGCLOSE should be in Acad2009 and newer.
A2014 win7 32 bit. What do you expect the command to do?

If QVDrawing or QVLayout are open, then the appropriate command should close them, if they're not already open, then nothing happens.
I'm not sure this is your problem though, just clarifying.
Thanks for the info and movie. I wasn't aware that they were called "Quickviews" - although even with the correct name they are not in Help, but I was looking for words with "preview" .
Do you have trouble with them (layout QV's) following the cursor all over the screen - covering up exactly where you want to see.?
