Permanantly Delete BOM Item

How do i permamantly delete a BOM item?

I have an item that I delete but it still shows up as a link to other items BOM iems. How can I get rid of that?

I tried undeleting it an manually removing th BOM links and the redeleting but it had not affect.

Hi Orrin,

Is this Item associated with a Change Order?  The change order may be in a workflow locked state.  Do a workspace search and see how many relationships that item has.

Thanks for the tip. I hadn't considered that.

That said, I went into my tnnant to take care of the change order and in my searching I saw that the BOM item i want to delete no longer has any links associated with it. So, I just deleted it and vioala..it's gone now. I din't do anything any different than I did yesterday.

It seems as if the DB needed some time to catch up and clean up the invalid links.

Whatever. It works now.

This issue occured again yesterday. It just seems that BOM items do not delete cleanly. I realize that the detaikls of doing that on the back end could be rather tricky but I would suggest that PLM development look into ensuring that it can be done smoothly.

This is no a huge issue really. It's just that a user may stumble upon an extra link and not understand why they see duplicate (or extra) item linked to a BOM constellation display.
