CMM Point Clouds for Inspection

I would like to see Inventor have a way to easily communicate to suppliers and inspectors where I (as the engineer) would like to have a part probed on CMM. I've seen this question raised on multiple occasions and as of right now, I don't know of a good way to communicate this. I've seen the capability in CATIA that a STEP file can be exported with points which can be picked up by inspectors and used for CMM probing locations, is this something that Inventor could also include?

Is this possible.I could realy use this for datum points on a model .
