Large asm and layout inventor 2013

Hi Guy's

I'm designing a complex machenery and have included a layout at the very top.

Basicallly I want's to use a Top Down approach but I also like to be able to open Sub-Asm individually.

  • Are there any one who have practical experience with using layout in large asm ?
  • Should I constrain to the Top Level Layout or
  • Should I  put the same Layouy in all Sub-Asm I like to open individually ?

If you know you structure, you can use nested blocks to reresent subassemblies. Inventor will automatically create subassemblies from these when you use the 'make components' tool.

If you want to keep it flexible, use make components to derive all the parts out into a master assembly, then demote parts into sub assemblies.

Does this make sense?
