Hi, we are used to using MDT and presently looking at the possibilities of
utilizing IV, so it's pretty vital that it can import and manipulate MDT
files as well as possible. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
When trying to open a dwg file, without having specified a template
previously, it is loaded in as 2d only (if at all) and on the layout screen
(as if it loaded it with an idw template). I've tried clicking on the
options button after selecting the file and IV seems to only think of the
dwg as an AutoCAD file, with the MDT tick-box greyed out, despite the file
being created in MDT.
The only way I seem to be able to get anything to load in 3d is by starting
a new assembly and placing an external component, but then I can't access
any of the features, or edit the part. Also, when dealing with assemblies
it struggles (at best) and only seems to be able to load some localised
components - losing any information regarding to constraints or external
parts.
Is there anything I can do to aid the situation?
I'm using IV 6 and trying to access MDT 6 files on an XP system.
I read elsewhere on here (Re: MDT 6 to IV6 wont go! of 29/04/2003 14:28)
about some registry patch to help with MDT, what is this? could it help me?
Equally on this post it was suggested to amupdate the mdt file, which I've
tried, with no change...
This occurs with every MDT file I have tried, so it doesn't seem to be file
specific.
Thanks for any help, Sam
