Excel editing of custom content centre parts

Hi,

I have a published ipart that I am trying to edit via excel, when I edit the family table and select the edit in excel option, it opens the excel sheet fine with the parameters etc as I expect, I add all the data, save and close. However when I return to inventor all it is doing is spinning away, am I missing something?

Many thx

Hi BNG73,

I'm not sure I can offer any answers, but maybe a few more details might help.

A few questions:
What version of Excel are you running?

What Operating System are you running? Windows 7? Windows 8.1?

If you edit an iPart table with Excel, does that work?

Has this worked in the past, and has just stopped working now?

I hope this helps.
Best of luck to you in all of your Inventor pursuits,
Curtis

Hi Curtis,

I am running Excel 2007, Windows 7 pro. I have not tried this before, normally I edit the table through the editor interface. I left Inventor for 5 min to see if it would upload the excel data to no luck. I added 30 lines with 8 columns so not a lot of data, however as a work-a-round I copy and pasted the data from excel into the editor interface which was fine.

Any thoughts would be useful, I wondered if there was an option I needed to check before saving and closing the excel sheet or something like that.

Thanks.
