main issue here the install screen states turn of your anti-virus
ok sounds ok for a small company individual user

we are a global company and the anti-virus on these corporate machines cannot be turned off even by the site IT people its being admistered either in India or Canada depending on the time of day and under no circumstances as a corporate it policy will they turn off the anti-virus

so anybody tried installing the following products with the anti-virus on and what does it do

AutoCAD Mechanical

AutoCAD inventor

AutoCAD Inventor LT

AutoCAD Architecture

basically are we screwed by autodesk again ?

Hi,
Leo Notenboom provides a very good explanation on this here.
It explains the reason why we should disable the antivirus if recommended by the software vendor.

Cheers

we've install 2006 and 2009 Adesk softwares (Acad, Acad Elec, Civil3d,
Inventor Series and Suite) with Norton enabled (for 2006 and 2009
softwares) and McAfee enabled (for 2009 software) using a repackaged
admin image.

I'm not involved in the process of creating the admin images so I don't
know any specifics there...

I'm posting just to report that we've had anti-virus enabled and somehow
the software still gets installed.

Antonio,
I appreciate your instructions to disable the anti-virus software, but there are many corporate users who are unable to disable their virus detection. Even the highest level system admin's cannot do it because of group policies which do not allow us to disable the anti-virus software. I cannot even download the updates and patches using my admin account as i do not have access to the web using an admin account. Please help us find an easier way to do our jobs. Autodesk is a huge company and has always been great, but it feels that most fixes are geared towards smaller companies. The really big guys limit us on what we can and cannot do so much it makes our jobs very difficult. Edited by: mark.lewis@arnold.af.mil on Apr 21, 2010 2:11 PM
