resetting UI elements - Maya 2011

I'm trying to reset the factory default for all windows.  I tore off the attribute editor and the channel editor and would now like it to be part of the main window without floating.  How do I reset back to factory settings?  I would like to incrementally go through the channel editor and attribute editor by control A...

You will find  Maya discussion groups at the http://area.autodesk.com/. You may want to post this question there.

A quick solution would be to double click on the channel Box/Layer editor window and it should bring back to Maya UI.

Then you can do File save preference.

For reset. Exit Maya then rename the prefs folder from the following location and restart maya to default.

windows 7 or Vista

C:\Users\USERNAME\Documents\maya\2011\

Windows XP

C:\Documents and Settings\<username>\My Documents\maya\2011\

Windows Vista and Windows 7 64bit

C:\Users\<username>\Documents\maya\2011-x64\

Windows XP 64bit

c:\Documents and Settings\<username>\My Documents\maya\2011-x64\
