network menus

we use stand alone AutoCAD seats on a small network.

I was wondering if AutoCAD 2Ki will let multiple seats load one .mns file
from across the network. I know 14 didn't seen to like this & would give
strange results/errors. I would like to set up and maintain one office menu
(additional to the default AutoCAD) for standards.

Is this possible or do I still have to copy around separate .mns files for
each seat?

along similar lines; I noticed there is now a path to plotters folder in the
options box. can I set up one set of plotters that all the seats will share?
I've played with it a little & seem to be having some problems (I think it's
related to the fact that one machine is win 2k & one is NT).

Chris,
I have successfully created a custom menu on our networks that have read
only privileges for users. I leave the out-of-the-box menus where AutoCAD
puts them on their local machine. You need to make sure you have compile
the menu with all the right pathing in place for any Icons you might need to
avoid the smiley faces. You also need to make sure the custom menu is read
only for the users. I also have all my pc3 files and ctb files on my
servers with the profiles pointing to them. You will need to create a pc3
file for each printer for each OS. I would also make these folders read
only for the users. Hope this helps. If you need more details on how to
set this up, let me know.

GREAT!

I hadn't thought about making the directories read only but i like that
idea.

I was affraid that the OS was the issue with the printers - looks like i
have one more reason to recomend leveling the playing field
