license server error

I am having a problem with ACAD 2002 not locating the license server. It
was working fine then it stoped working. The license is on the proper
server but 2002 will not locate it. I am using NT4. Any clues?

What exact error do you get? Can you ping the server by name from the
workstation? Did anything change on the network?

[1.5-15]. The server connection is fine. We also serve the Land license
off this server with no problems. Thank you.

Shoot, I've seen that error before but can't remember for love or money what it
was.
I thought it had something to do with services running....maybe try restarting
the service on the server?
Wish I was more help....

Make sure the service is running.

Can you telnet into the server on ports 27000 or 2080?

Make sure that the .lic file sent to you by autodesk has the correct server
name and MAC address. I had this problem, they typo'd my MAC address, and I
had to get a new one. It still took about 20 minutes of beating my head on
the wall until I just happened to open the file and notice that the MAC
address was incorrect.
