can't install 30 days trial version autocadarchitecture

hey,

I can't install the 30 days trial version autocadarchitecture 2013 properly. It's doing the installation process but in the end it tells me it wasn't installed completely. so it installed something (GB's are taken from the harddrive) but autocad is not there to open.

I had installed a trial version of 2011 or 2012 before, could that be the problem?

any advice much appreciated.

t.

Hi tristan73,

Could you post a screenshot of the error?

hi camilo,

thanks for quick reply.

yes, it does look like the sceenshot you've shown. I uninstalled all older versions of AutoCAD before downloading the newest one. what do they mean with prerequisites?

do you think I should try that second advice, changing the ini.setup file?

Hi tristan73,

That solution I liked above was written by one of our Expert Elite users of the forums, so as far as you follow the instructions there carefully you will be safe:)

hi,

deleted some stuff on the ini. setup but still it is not completely installing.

it is really annoying by now as it is clogging up my hardrives GB's and I even don't know where it puts it and what.

Please post your installation log file that appears on the failure screen.  Modifying your setup.ini might be a little premature and advanced for you at this stage of the game. I hope you made a backup of the setup.ini file because you need to restore the original.  If not, extract the original again from the download.

hi,

thanks for reply. yes, that's completely true, surely I don't know anything really about changing the ini.setup, just tried to do what's written in this link sent before.

I don't know either where I can find the installation log file. It always says that the installation is incomplete as shown in the screenshot 2nd post. I tried to delete everything I could find about AutoCAD, as I said, it's taking 6GB's of my harddrive every time I try this installation process and I can't even find where this 6 GB is going to. very annoying so I don't want to install it again and again, as it also takes hours to do.

I have a back up of the ini.file. I attach this. the modified one must be still also in the system. getting really messy I think.

so not possible to attach the ini. file here.

I don't need your .ini file.  I need your installation.log file.  It can be found by clicking the blue link in the failure summary page of the installation (see picture above.)  Attach that here so I can understand where the installation is failing.

Additionally, the file physically exists in your %TEMP% folder if you would prefer to look for it there.

Thanks!

Tristan 73,

My initial question is if you have other AutoCAD 2013 verticals already installed – do you have any service packs installed? If you have any AutoCAD based SPs installed, uninstall them before you try to install architecture.

Thank you for taking part in our community!

there's no log file in the temp folder.

I tried to install autocad 2013architecture a few times by now, it didn't work. as said in my first post I had a trial version of 2012 or 2011 installed before, but deleted it to my best knowledge. I didn't install any service packs or sp?(whatever that means)

thanks for your help
