Unable to start the lincense server on a Mac

I am having problem starting the lincense server on a Mac running 10.7 server, I have followed the Quick Start: Setting up a license server on Mac guide and having any luck to get it going, below is the log for the errors:

Can anyone point out what am I doing wrong?

Yeah, my only recommendation is to go back thru it step by step. I
typically support it on Windows. But it's basically the same but without a
decent GUI.

Hi.

What is the exact issue? Can you please take a look at the logs? Here's how:

1. Open Finder and press Command+Shift+G

2. Enter "/var/log/autodesk" in the field that pops up, then press Go. This will take you to the lic server's log folder.

3. Open the adlm_flexnetserver.log file and look for error messages. Post anything you find here.

If the error in the log is "Wrong hostid" , and you are running OS X 10.8, then you might be experiencing a known bug, documented in this KB article: http://usa.autodesk.com/adsk/servlet/ps/dl/item?id=21280818&linkID=9242618&siteID=123112

If that's the issue, please try the workarounds in that article.

Looks like you are finally getting somewhere.  The -15 error you are getting typically is caused by Firewall or other communication error.  On Windows Servers, it is generally caused by IPv6 DNS errors.  So it could be one of those two issues on your system as well.

I am not sure how the fiewall can cause problem, the server and stations are all reside within the same subnet, and we are not using IPv6 at all.  I don't have full acces to the network resource only IT people have access, on this campus IT don't support Mac. When it comes to the Mac I am on my own, therefore, before I go to IT I need to find out the exact cause of the problem, if this is a network communication related issue.

The reason it could be firewall is that port 27000-27009 is not a commonly used port.  Also, just because you don't use IPv6 doesn't mean its not being used.  Can you do a PING of the license server and get an IPv4 address?  How about from the Mac itself to itself?  Same?

I see the problem here, the hostname of  server is the same as the domain name which is a totally different server reside in IT building.

When I type hostname in terminal to find the hostname of the Mac "cerritos.edu" is what displayed, the actual server name is CaiMacServ, but the IP address of the server is statics not DHCP.  When I type hostname of my Mac, it return MAC-043278.local, completely different from the server, and my Mac is on DHCP.  See attached screen cap of the server network address, notice the DNS server address is 127.0.0.1, where my mac show a different DNS server 10.1.1.24, .28....etc.  The network config is what IT told me to use inclue the DNS. 

Any ideas?

Windows uses a hosts file to redirect hostnames to IP addresses. I assume
Mac has something similar.

I not sure how mac use it, even if is the same as PC I still need a work around to get the server going.

It keep saying no vendor daemons to start, and tcp port 27001, according to the license file this is what it has "VENDOR adskflex port=2080", do I need a new license file?

Hi.

The server might be unable to read your license file properly (for example because the file is DOS-formatted instead of being UNIX-formatted).

so may be the file wasn't converted correctly?  vim check out OK no more ^M at end of the line.

Hi.

That doesn't look right. In a non-Terminal text editor the file should look just as it did before the conversion.

When you tested the file in vim before the converision, did it have the ^M character at the end of each line? If not, you should not have continued with the conversion.
