If anyone have an answer to my problem please respond. In a network with 30
users everything works fine as long as there are many users logged on,
however when only a few users are logged on Autocad hangs for 1-3 minutes on
several commands. What should i do to solve this problem?????

Richard,

Thats a new one :smileyhappy:. Usally things slow down with more users. Please tell
us more about your situation. Are the AutoCAD executable files on the
server or on the workstations? Which commands are hanging?

SV: Strange problem with A2K NLS

Hi Jerry, thanks for answering. All executable files are on workstations,
only license manager are on server together with plotstyles, plotters and
some pmp-files. The commands that hangs up for 1-3 minutes are plot and
options-dialogs, and they dont improve after the first time used. I have
tried to remove all unneccesary plotters, pltstyles etc. I have also changed
supportpaths on the network to local paths. The problem occured after
adding a new server on the network. We also moved adlm to this server, i am
thinking of adding sp6a and reinstalling one workstation to see if i get any
result. If you know something that could be usefule please answer. I have
also tried setting acadserver-variable but it doesnt seem to improve things.

SV: Strange problem with A2K NLS

Hi Richard,

I have not read the entire thread, but If you are running AutoCAD 2000. Be sure
to apply the plotting update and SP1 for AutoCAD 2000. You will need to do this
for every workstation that is running AutoCAD. Give this a try and see if it
helps.

Please let us know how this goes.

Thanks

Bud

Richard,

I have not seen behavior like this befor. Based on the fact that only plot
related commands hang and that you are only sharing things like plotstyles
from the server, it sounds like a browser problem on your network. Have you
tried searching Microsoft's knowledge base for performance that degrades
with reduced numbers of users?
