Revit Architrecture 2012 Error 1603 and 1619

I've tried installing this software about 5 times and everytime it has an error when installing the actual program.  It says Autodesk Revit Architecture 2012 Error 1603 and then everything after that fails with error 1619.  I've read through as many similar posts as I could find but none of the solutions worked.  I'm attaching my error log.

If you read the install log you would see that all of the microsoft c++ programs installed just fine.  Before starting the install, i uninstalled all of the ones that were on the computer already.  The 1603 error occurs when it is installing the actual revit 2012 program, not its components.  The link you gave me doesn't even apply to my situation.  Please give me another suggestion but read my error log first.

I checked your log file and your initial installation attempt failed because of a problem with the installation of Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 Redistributable (x86) but this pre-requisites is installed successfully in a later installation attempt.  At this point, I would recommend the following to ensure a clean installation of Revit Architecture 2012:
1. If Revit Architecture 2012 is included in the list of programs in the Programs and Features portion of Control Panel, try uninstalling it.  I doubt it will be listed but it is good to double check.

2. If they exist, delete the following folders:

C:\Program Files\Autodesk\Revit Architecture 2012

C:\ProgramData\Autodesk\RAC 2012

3. If they exist, delete the following registry keys:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Autodesk\RAC 2012

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Autodesk\Revit\2012

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Autodesk\Revit\Autodesk Revit Architecture 2012

4. Delete any files and folders in C:\Windows\Temp as well as the Windows temp folder, which is accessible by navigating to %temp% in Windows Explorer.

5. Disable any virus scanners.

If you continue to encounter problems with this install, please post your latest log file.  It would also be good to know what operating system you are running and if there are any other Autodesk programs installed on this system.

It did no work. I disabled BitDefender Anti Virus, had no folders you mentioned in my temp files. There's only one file, "Autodesk Sync" which I cannot uninstall. Any other suggestions are welcome. I did have a little trouble installing on Vista, but after 2x it was fine. I installed Windows 7 OS and this, like the first poster, is about the 4th time i've tried to install it. Any other suggestions?

Without an installation log file, it is difficult to identify why your Revit Architecture 2012 installation is failing.  Please delete the contents of your Windows temp folder, then try to install Revit Architecture 2012 once again.  When the installation fails, please make note of (or take a screen capture) the error that is generated.  Next, gather the install log file (if it is too large, create a zip file to reduce its size) and post it here for review.

FYI, I did follow the forum trail that went through a temp file deletion
process, but I will go through it again. Also, per other responses in forums
I don't understand why I Microsoft C++ Redistributable should be deleted
from my programs. If AutoDesk products do not talk to Microsoft programs,
that sounds like an AutoDesk programming issue. People who did uninstall
that program still unsuccessful were still unable to re-install. I will try
again, by emptying my temp folder. But please appreciate that 8 hours spent
trying time and time again to download a program represents some kind of
issue. Granted I may not be the computer genius that you are, but given that
I have solved many a computer issue without ever bothering anybody, replaced
my hard drive, etc - I think Autodesk should take a little more
responsibility.

Unfortunately I don't see an attachment to your last post so I don't have much information to go on.  If you don't have any other Autodesk programs installed on this system, my best suggestion would be to following the steps in the following technical solution, which should ensure that you have fully removed all Autodesk software from your computer:

If you do have other Autodesk programs installed, the steps I outlined in my previous post are still your best option.  Another option is to try Microsoft FixIt, which fixes problems with programs that can't be uninstalled properly.  This may help to alleviate the problem you are experiencing with the Autodesk Sync installation.

Thanks for supplying your log file, which indicates that the installation is failing because of a problem during the installation of Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 Redistributable (x86).  Based on this, my next suggestion would be to try another installation of Revit Architecture 2012 but this time, disable the Design Review option and only install Revit Architecture and the Autodesk material library.  This configuration should allow you to avoid a Design Review install issue in which the installer fails when it finds a version of Microsoft Visual C++ that is newer than the one to be installed by Autodesk.

If the installation of Revit Architecture 2012 still fails when the Design Review option is disabled, another option would be to install the pre-requisites ahead of time.  I can point you to the individual installers if you need to try this approach.

If anyone is still having this problem, I now know that it has to be dealt with very systematically because - maybe I'm slow, but my steps outlined below worked for me - Eureka! -

Tony, prior to receiving your last posting these were the steps I took.

1. read nearly everyone elses post and went to posted links associated with this error 
2.  deleted every single .tmp file, one was locked - I don't know why because I am the administrator, it was w/ Bit Defender so I think it is okay
3. I went to every nook and cranny that Autodesk downloads its files. I had a trial version of ACAD 2012 (prior to this multi attempt download of Revit) - so I got  rid of everything - I'm sure the majority on this site understands, that just uninstalling the program via the control panel doesn't mean all its tentacles are gone!
4. I took my last error log file and had it opened along side the control panel programs (Install/Uninstall). Everywhere the log had a failure after a Microsoft Visual C ++ file, I deleted that specific file.
5. Shut down. Re-booted. Turned off all Anti-virus applications

So in the end even the even the Autodesk Design portion did instal!

It is simply unfortunate over the course of the past two days, I spent nearly 14 hours trying to resolve the issues. I hope the steps above help others too.
