RE: Revit 2014 Failed Install - Errors 1603 & 1619

Hi,

 

I'm trying to install Revit 2014 (Student) on my new PC (Windows 8.1, 8GB Memory, 2TB hard disk) and keep receiving Errors 1603 & 1619 message. I've copied the log below. To address Error 1603 I followed expert Travis Nave's advice in his video (http://forums.autodesk.com/t5/Installation-Licensing/Install-NET-Framework-Language-Pack-Failed-Inst...) on going back to the setup.ini  script and adding 'IGNORE_FAILURE=YES' under the failed 3rd Party Components (in my case the DOTNET and Microsoft Visual C++ files). After trying to install again the Error 1603 message has this time been linked to the failed download of Autodesk Material Library 2014 (in red at the end of the log below). There is also an Error 1619 linked to the DirectX Runtime which is highlighted in red too. I double checked my system before and found I have DirectX 11, but beyond this I'm lost as to how I can resolve the 1619 and 1603 errors! Each time I install Revit I ensure I have covered the basics: deleted any Revit files in the %temp% folder, disabled Firewall software, have full admin priveleges etc. Is there something inherently wrong with Windows 8.1 and the new Autodesk Revit?! Please help!

I am having the exact same issue. Error 1619. Have tryed everything thats been suggested so far. Running Windows 8.1, DirectX 11. The only AutoDesk program i was able to install was Inventor 2014 Pro. Have Failed installing, MAYA, CAD, 3DMAX, and REVIT. 

 

Out of ideas at this time...

 

Please HELP!!!

I know it's been a while since the last post, but I just got through this problem by right clicking on Setup.exe, going to properties, clicking on the Compatibility tab, and setting it to Windows 7 compatibility.

Hi!

I'm trying to run the Autodesk Setup 2014 in Windows 8.1, but it's stays loading (Setup Initialization)  without opening or failing the setup. So I tried to run it witth Windows 7 and Windows 8; I even click in Compatibily and check .Net 2 and 3, restart the laptop and run it again, and its the same, nothing appears. 

 

What could I do?

I am having exactly the same problem as you. I have tried every option described on other webpages/forums to sort it but its still not working. Have you managed to get a solution to the problem yet?

Hi Max,

It's been just under a year since I was attempting to install Revit 2014,
and initially I had to settle with the Revit 2012 option to work on my
Windows 8.1 PC (not sure if this is still available for the free
three-year-student download). When that was successful, I tried once again
to get the 2014 version, and from memory by just installing Revit alone
with none of the added extra software options, it finally worked. I would
recommend trying this and see how you go. For what it's worth, I have never
needed to use any of these extra add ons... best of luck!
