This .cab file is found in the <<DOWNLOADorMEDIA>>\x64\max folder. It may be that the extraction from the download or DVD has a problem. If it is a DVD try copying the media to the local hard drive and run from there. It may also be that your temp folder is full and needs to be emptied.

Hi,

I've downloaded the student version from your website. I also got the same problem with the help.cab file. I've searched in the folders, but no help.cab file can be found.

Is there a possibility to download the single help file?

I've downloaded 3Ds Max twice with the same problem.

I've read about the problem in different forums, but never get any solution.

Thanks for your kind help.

Thanks for your file. I downloaded it and insert it in the "max"-folder of the 32-bit version.

But now when I try to install the error 1334 appears.

It says that the file "ICO_FILE3DSMAXANT.CCD232C8.9237_47E1...." could'nt be installed, because this file isn't founded in the cabinet-data file "help.cab". That points out that there is a network-error, a CD-Rom-error or that the packet has a problem.

I don't know what I should do now.

Thanks for your kind help.

Download the files again using an alternative download. I’d suggest using the Browser download button from Firefox from Subscription Center. For the Student Community Download pages click the link lower on the page for those having problems with the Akamai Download Manager. You may be behind a Proxy or be on a network with settings that Akamai may not work well on.

Hey,

I've also downloaded the student version from your website. I also got the same problem with the help.cab file. I've searched in the folders, but no help.cab file can be found on my computer at all.

IIs it possible to grab it as a single file?

I've downloaded 3Ds Max twice with the same problem.

I have searched and searched for solutions, and have not found any yet, and the previously posted solution doesnt seem to help 🙂

Kind Regards,
  Chris

Same, see my attachment.

I have:

1) Downloaded it on 2 different pc's at different locations, both with there security switched off

2) Tried unarcing the rar with 7zip and it suggests an error in x64\max\max7.cab

3) Tried installing both 32 and 64 bit, same error comes up

4) Tried both links

5) Downloaded several times

6) Tried different browsers

I'm not convinced this is down to transmission or security, in my opinion there is something wrong with the package

I reckon I know whats going on here. Attached is a winrar test on the part 2 archive.

I haven't downloaded part 1 yet due to bandwidth, so I reckon from the error message that you have to unarc both packages before you even start installation - i.e. you HAVE to have both extracted

I will report back when I have downloaded and unarc'd both packages

same here...help.cab missing. I also noticed, that the downloaded .rar is named "part2", but of what? Downloaded it twice (with my browser, not with the DL-Manager) and never had the option to download a "part1"...

In the downloads section you are given the option of:

"If you are having trouble with your download, please click here to download using your browser. "

You can then download them to your desktop instead of some random temp file denoted by the "Installer"

I'm currently downloading Part 1 now (3GB)...

Solved

download both packages and then installed from part one. Works fine

Autodesk  - would be worth suggesting you MUST download both pakages

When I downloaded it through the "Browser Download" option with Google Chrome in the default and same directory(because "download now" or "Install Now" Options were not available for any software, And it took more than 18 hours to get downloaded)and when I launch the Setup File that ends in .exe this popped up and installation was Absolutely unsuccessful:

The System Cannot find the file specified.

C:\Autodesk\Autodesk_3ds_Max_2011_English_Win_32-64bit\SetupRes\eval.msi

And Then The Installer Closes Absolutely Unsuccessful. Please Help, This A Very Important Emergency, Please Reply Detailed Illustrations, Please Hurry, Reply Back As Soon As You See This, And Thank You If You Help!

Hi strongzed,

You can find a direct download link for Autodesk 3ds Max 2011 in our Virtual Agent.

1. Click on Downloading New/Updated Products

2. Click the first hyperlink to download prior to 2014 release

3. Select product and version you need

Thanks, but when I downloaded a fresh copy again from that place, and after 18 hours of download when I ran the install file on my desktop It installed a little files and said:

Error

Some installations files are corrupted.

Please download a fresh copy and retry the installation.

And then the installation automatically aborted.

And still after that when I ran the setup file (Which it installed) it said the same thing I told the previous time. Any Help? It's an Emergency!

Hi Alex,

Corrupt download issues / CRC errors are typically resolved by utilizing a different browser, and/or turning off your firewall + antivirus software.

Can you please give that a shot and let us know if it makes a difference?
