No visible grid

I recently installed 3dsmax 2011 student version on my laptop and if i
start my 3dsmax i can't see any grid. I have tried to reinstall 3dsmax but
nothing changed.

I have Windows 7 Professional
Intel Core i5
nVidia NVS 3100m
