New NLM problems

Our IT person told me that the NLM that we are using also controls the software that the machine shop uses to program their machines and that if we change to a new NLM that this will cause a problem with the machining software. How do we fix this problem?

Your IT person is just being cautious. The NLM is backwards compatible with other versions and upgrading will not affect other vendors. I configure the NLM for multiple vendors and they all work fine together. The best practice is to make sure you are running only one license manager and it is the latest version for all your products. If you need further detail, please let me know.

If you uninstall the Autodesk Network License manager, the Autodesk products services configured will remain, when you install the new version, you should find the services configured and you only need to start them again.
It should be the same for the other vendor services, however we cannot ensure that.
In the worst case you will need to configure again the services for the other vendor’s applications.
Please note that you need to have installed the Autodesk Network License manager corresponding to the last product you have using network licenses.
Product family FLEXlm version
2009 11.4.100.0
2010 11.5.0.0
2011 11.7.0.0

I do not recommend uninstalling your license manager, since you are running more than one vendor. Simply launch your LMTOOLS and stop all the vendor services that are configured. Then download the appropriate new files and overwrite the existing ones. You can then restart LMTOOLS and start all the services again. I have provided the necessary information in this post:
