Moving LMTOOLS to another server.

At present LMTOOLS is sitting on a win2k server which once a week loses itself in the domain, denying access to the license manager. Once rejoined to the domain all is fine again. I doubt this is actually caused by the license manager itself and would like to move it to another server. Does anyone know an easy, non-disruptive method for doing this?

You have to request a new license file if you move the license manager to another server. -- Best Regards, Jimmy Bergmark CAD and Database Developer Manager at www.pharmadule-emtunga.com Take a look at JTB FlexReport (FLEXlm report tool) - www.jtbworld.com/jtbflexreport SmartPurger (Purges automatically) - www.jtbworld.com/?/smartpurger.htm or download some freeware at www.jtbworld.com More on AutoCAD 2005; www.jtbworld.com/autocad2005.htm "jackharris" wrote in message news:5056905.1081953665559.JavaMail.jive@jiveforum1.autodesk.com... > At present LMTOOLS is sitting on a win2k server which once a week loses itself in the domain, denying access to the license manager. Not if you move the NIC card to the new server, and keep its name the same... right, Jerry? And Efim? --Cy-- "Jimmy Bergmark" wrote in message news:407d4fcd_2@newsprd01... > You have to request a new license file if you move the license manager to > another server. > > "jackharris" wrote in message > news:5056905.1081953665559.JavaMail.jive@jiveforum1.autodesk.com... > > At present LMTOOLS is sitting on a win2k server which once a week loses > itself in the domain, denying access to the license manager. You actually don't have to move the NIC card. When we changed server we kept the name and the MAC address. -- Best Regards, Jimmy Bergmark CAD and Database Developer Manager at www.pharmadule-emtunga.com Take a look at JTB FlexReport (FLEXlm report tool) - www.jtbworld.com/jtbflexreport SmartPurger (Purges automatically) - www.jtbworld.com/?/smartpurger.htm or download some freeware at www.jtbworld.com More on AutoCAD 2005; www.jtbworld.com/autocad2005.htm "Cy Shuster" wrote in message news:407d5a74$1_2@newsprd01... > Not if you move the NIC card to the new server, and keep its name the > same... right, Jerry?
