I am trying to instal Inventor 2012 on a 32 bit Microsoft Vista laptop. I have found the hotfix page, received the link in my email, but when i try to unzip the file, i get "Error 40, the file could not be unzipped".
Has this happened to anyone else and is there a way to fix this problem.
Al your help is appreciated. Thanks.
Gotta love Microsoft for screwing things up. I've posted the hotfix here a long time ago. Go download and extract it.
I had the same problem.... downloaded and installed/unzipped the hotfix.
However, even after restarting, it still won't let me install Inventor. It still says it needs the hotfix.
After you unzipped the hotfix, did you install it and reboot?
After the HotFix KB971138 files are unzipped say to my C: drive, where are they and what am I supposed to be looking for? What is the next step cause Inventor is still saying I need the hotfix.
Thanks in advance
Did you install the hotfix? Run it.
Finally found the file that I needed to run by putting it in a new folder. I finall got to configure what products I wanted to install from AutodeskProduct Design Suite Premium 2012. It went through installation then hung up on wanting to download web service enhancements (WSE) 3.0 for microsoft.net. Right after I hit cancel as I do not have the CD-rom it was looking for and it wasnt satisfactory I download it from the internet, Autodesk installation completed failing to install Inventor, Vault, Design review and Fusion.
Attached is the installation log fail. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
The failure is in the WSE.
Install Web Services Enhancements (WSE) 3.0 for Microsoft .NET Failed Installation aborted, Result=1612
You could consider removing it and reinstall. I would also recommend not selecting Fusion and Design Review as part of your total install. Get Inventor on first then add the others after or the whole suite fails when one does. Sometimes one at a time is the best way.
I am getting the same Error 40 message. I clicked the link you provided and still got the same Error 40 msg after trying to unzip it. Any other ideas?
