Maya 2011 Launching Problem

Hello good folks,

I am having a bit of a predicament with Maya not launching. I keep getting a licensing error message when I can't get the product to start the Activation or Registration screen. The error message I get is this:

AdlmInt Error: The AUTODESK_ADLM_THINCLIENT_ENV XML file could not be loaded
license problem in GUI mode launch dialog message.

No matter how many times I reinstall the product the same message keeps appering. I can't activate the product without Maya starting normally. So what can I do?

Are you activating a trial install?  You may need to edit the License.env, which is located at:

Windows:

For Maya 2011 - C:\Program Files\Autodesk\Maya2011\bin\License.env

Linux:

/usr/autodesk/maya2011-x64/bin/License.env

Mac:

/Applications/Autodesk/maya2011/Maya.app/Contents/License.env

Edit the file to read the following:

MAYA_LICENSE=unlimited

MAYA_LICENSE_METHOD=standalone

You should also then install the latest service pack.

I found the solution to this little problem. It wasn't anything related to the Licensing but the way you install the software itself. My mistake was extracting the RAR file and I didn't notice the small detail, "Application." So because of that I had numerous amounts of problems that I only frustrated myself for not noticing sooner.

Thank you for giving me guidance on additional information.

Cheers mate
