License error 18.1.78

Does anyone know the cause for this error to occur with a standalone version of Acad 2002

It's a timeout error, while trying to write to disk, and usually happens intermittently. It can be caused by interference from low-level software such as anti-virus packages. Try upgrading that software to the latest version available. Upgrade to the latest license drivers, as well:

Search for "DL402225".

Keith,

An error code alone outside of the context of which
it occurred does not provide the full story.  The first thing you should do
is update your License management system to the latest version.  You can
get it at:

I would also obtain and apply the latest service
pack for your operating system and virus checker.  If this does not help,
try posting here with more details.

  • how often does this happen?

  • what other software are you running?

  • what other software is installed on your
    system?

  • what actions seem to make this occur?

  • What OS are you running

  • Service Pack?

  • Virus checker and version?
