I have ben using Inventor Pro 2010 form some year (windows vista 32 bit). I closed the program one day, and the next day when I tried to run it again it waited a short time then poped up the "would you like to send us an error report" screen, it would not even open the flash screen start up. I have had windows updates turned off, so I would not be taken by suprise, and as far as I know nothing new was installed. The computer had been left on over night, so there was not even a re-boot.
I tired removing any user accoutn details, and that had no effect. I tried removing all traces of inventor and reinstalling, and i have exactly the same problem.
I have fully updated the computer, and STILL the same problem.
I can now run the Licence transfer program, but it now tells me that no such serial number exists, I dont know if this is simply because I have reinstalled the software and it appears I have used all the license up at the moment?! Or is this the reason why it crashed in the first place?!
Try doing a system restore back to when it did work. As for your serial, if it was ever under Subscription and expired, or was ever upgraded under Subscription or otherwise, then that could be the reason for the issue.
Unfortunately the system restore didnt work! As far as I am aware there is no subscription or update, and certainly it has been running fine for 3 years.
Can you do a repair install?
I tried a repair install with Inventor, but it didnt work, it was looking for some files in a drive that didnt exist! So i did a full uninstall and reinstall.. and the problem is the same.
