I have used Alias Studio Tools since 1995. At one point, I was allowed by my company (and also Alias after contacting them), to bring my dongle home and use Alias there (since I could only use one seat at any given time or location). Studio Tools was migrated to Surface Studio. I have 3 versions installed at work (version 12, 2009, and 2012). We have always renewed our maintainance contract each year. I have noticed that I don't need the dongle to run 2012.
Is it allowed for me to install 2012 at home and bring work home when burdened at work? If so, do I need to do anything special to get it to work (other than go through the normal licensing task in the software)?
You simply need to request a home use license from the Subscription Center. The HULA allows for a home use license activation for this purpose, so long as your company allows it, or course. You should be able to do this if you are the contract manager for the Subscription account. If not, go ask that person.
