There are three different ways to install and run AutoCad.
1. 'Standalone' - Where all program files are local on the PC and the authorization code is put in for each installation.
2. 'Network Licensed' - Where all program files are local but the authorization is handed out by a network license manager. You can have 10 seats of AutoCad and install it on a 100 PCs, but only 10 at a time can use AutoCad.
3. 'Network Version' - All program files and licenses are on the network. Licenses are handed out as stated above.
The terms that I use are my terms to try to explain...
Hope that helps...
Sounds like your install is standalone.
