HELP!!! Installation failed!!!

Hi,

I downloaded Autodesk Revit Architecture 2012 and tried to install 6 times using the product key and serial number i was given through student download centre and it failed to install.

Then i tried to intall a trial version and thinking of putting the product key later on, its says installation complete and some products failed to install which are the autodesk design review 2012 and autodesk material library 2012.  There is a installation log file which says:

I went to the disk where it was installed and couldn't find the icon to do my first run. what should i do now?!!!

Please help. Thanks a lot in advance.

Hi qjy5567 -  There may be a newer version of the Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 Redistributable Package installed on your computer which is causing the install failure.

A typical workaround is to uinstall Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 Redistributable (x86) via the Control Panel (add / remove programs), reinstall the software, and then install the latest version of Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 Redistributable (x86) from Microsoft (linked here).

Please accept as a solution if this fully resolves the issue, or reply with specifics if the problem still persists.

Hi rosettamills,

There might be a possibility that your download file was corrupted / incomplete. Can you please delete the previous and try again via the following 48hr timed direct download links (I looked up your most recent download / let me know if you need a different product).

I also had this failed installation issue.  I followed the suggested steps and it worked. I am up and running now.  Thank you for posting..

I turned of the microsoft firewall but still the system ask me for permission for installation. This might have interupted the installation process and thus the failure notice was posted.

AutodeskDownloadManagerSetup was terminated.

Help needed. In reply please cc to patee8@yahoo.com

Thank you.

Hi Carlos!

Looks like it's the 1603 error that's holding up your installation. Typically this is a generic error generated by the Microsoft Windows Installer (MSI) indicating that a problem occurred during the installation of your Autodesk product. This error is not specific to any particular Autodesk product, but tends to be specific to the system on which you are installing. Try this Autodesk Solution and let me know if it fixes the issue.

Hello Jessica,

Thank you very much for your support. Unfortunately is not yet working.

I have tried the potential solutions listed in all of your sub-links but
still not working.

I have downloaded the different versions available. For the 2013 version I
could save the installation log once again, see attached, in case that it
may help.

Many thanks in advance for your support.
