Eveything, BUT 3ds Max 2014 installs

Hello, Here is my current situation: 1. I used to run 3ds Max 2014 (the student version) on my external hard drive, which unfortunately got corrupted. 2. As a result whenever I tried to run 3ds max it would throw up a registery error. 3. As a result I uninstalled everything Autodesk from my computer and redownloaded the installer. 4. I even went and manually deleted the Autodesk registry just to be safe Problem: - The installer will download and install everything but 3ds Max 2014. - It will install the Max SDK, Network License Manager, composite, ESM and Inventor Manager. - But NOT the actual MAX 2014. Attempts: - I've downloaded the installer from the student part of the website: No luck - I've downloaded the trial installer and used my product ID: No luck At this point I'm considering just dumping 3ds Max, but alas several of my projects are in the max format. Some help would be appreciated

Hello and Welcome to the Community!

If the installer is not letting you perform the re-install because it believes the software is already installed most likely there are registry keys left over from a partial install. Please use the Microsoft install cleanup fix-it tool at the below link:

http://support.microsoft.com/mats/Program_Install_and_Uninstall

1.) Click the "Run now" button in the Fix-it box.

2.) Accept the License Agreement.

3.) Choose the option "Detect Problems and let me select fixes to apply".

4.) Select "Uninstalling".

5.) When the list of installed programs populates, select the one from the list you are unable to reinstall and then click Next and Yes.

6.) When the tool completes there may be remnants left so please delete the directory where the product was installed.

Please "Accept Solution" if a reply or replies have helped resolve the issue or answered your question, to help others in the community.
