We have Novell 4.11 servers, and run NT4 Wkst (SP4) clients.
We use the Zen policy package in Novell to create the client logon. No
roaming profiles etc are set - simply a set of restrictions for all users.
I have created the client deployment location (using IPX) and have the
When I try to create a client wkstation, the setup.exe file runs through its
routine, but issues an 'error copying file' message just before the end of
the copy to the client workstation. The install routine goes as far as
putting the Autocad2000 icon on the desktop. However, when I reboot, the
icon changes to a generic windows system icon, and when launching Autocad,
the exe file cannot be found. That is, the exe files have not been copied,
and the file extensions are not properly registered.
I have been told by the supplier that this may be because we don't have
individual user desktop policies/profiles running.
Has anyone encountered this, and what is the remedy?
I'm thinking of setting up from the CD directly, then cloning the wkstation
round the other PCs. Is this possible (i.e. is the client deployment
location routine the only way to setup users when using the network
ACADSERVER as license manager?)
