When I launch AutoCad 2000 I recevie an AutoCad Alert that states:
"Configuration file may be locked bay another process or have been set read only(.cfg, .bak).
Correct problem and Retry or Cancel to error abort Exit."
Cancel button gives message:
"FATAL ERROR: Unable to Process Configuration File!"
Running autocad with a network licenses. All other installations work fine. Clean registry of all Acad, Autocad, and Autodesk refrences. Installed R14, got the same error. Cannot find an acad*.cfg file at all. Have only worked here a short time so am not sure of details about computer and network. Anybody got any suggestions?
Maby your Acad is trying to write to acadr14.cfg on network, and you have no
write access on that path. On R14 his problem arised if you had program
files installed on network and started application by clicking .dwg in
explorer (needed to use /c -option in 'application used to perform open
action'-field in explorer:file/file types/autocad drawing/open/...).
....Were does autocad set the acad.cfg default location? How can I change that without using the c\ switch in the shortcut target? Where can I check this setting if I can't launch Autocad and look under prefrences? We're on the right track. When I placed a c\ switch in the target line of the shortcut icon and pointed to my local HD it worked. The default setting does not, but I don't know what that is. Thanx for any help TP.....KLM
