I have been on subscription for several years. However due to a downturn in business I am forced to cancel my subscription.
I dont know all their legal stuff but just because you had a look at 2012 shouldnt mean you are forced to use it. I would think that as you had paid your full subs for 2011 then your unlimited license should prevail but you might need to uninstall 2012.
Legally, per the EULA, you can only use the last version that was upgraded. There's nothing that will ultimately stop you from continuing to use 2011, however, keep in mind that you will not be able to reinstall or activate 2011 without Subscription as the lease on that product is now expired.
As long as you don't activate your 2012 license you will still be entitled to use the 2011. When you say trialed the 2012, did you run the software in trial mode or activate it and test it out?
